NORCROSS, Ga. — NAC International Inc. (NAC) is pleased to announce the successful first-time deployment of its NAC-MPC technology for the dry storage of vitrified high level waste (HLW) at a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear decommissioning project. This first-of-its-kind accomplishment was achieved on November 10th, with the emplacement of one NAC-MPC system containing five (5) HLW canisters into a newly built onsite dry storage facility at the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) in West Valley, New York.

Doosan and NAC are pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation agreement for the joint development of CASK, a spent nuclear fuel storage system. CASK is a special container standing some 5 meters tall and weighing over 100 tons that is designed to carry and store spent fuel. The storage system requires a special design and production technology for transportation and storage, and will be built to ensure protections from the intense levels of radiation and heat from the enclosed spent fuel.

(Dominion) for the supply of NAC’s innovative and successfully deployed ultra-high capacity MAGNASTOR® System for transportable dry used fuel storage at the Kewaunee Power Station in Wisconsin. Under the contract, NAC will provide licensing, hardware, dry storage facility design and construction, and fuel loading operations for the Kewaunee project.

(NYSE:USU), a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel, announced that on January 23, 2013 it had entered into a stock purchase agreement to sell NAC International Inc. (“NAC”) to Hitz Holdings U.S.A. Inc. (“HHU”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi Zosen Corporation (“Hitz”) for approximately $42.4 million (the purchase price of $45 million less a working capital adjustment of approximately $2.6 million) in cash following a competitive sale process. NAC and Hitz are pleased to announce that this transaction closed today.

NORCROSS, Ga. — NAC International Inc. (NAC) announced today that it has been awarded a contract by CH2M HILL B&W West Valley, LLC for the supply of transportable NAC-MPC dry storage systems for high level waste for the West Valley Demonstration Project located in West Valley, New York. CH2M HILL B&W West Valley is the U.S. Department of Energy’s prime contractor performing the West Valley Demonstration Project Phase I Decommissioning Project. The scope of the agreement includes design, engineering, licensing and fabrication of NAC-MPC storage units, which will provide safe and secure transportable storage for 275 high level waste canisters and other materials that must be relocated from current facilities in order to permit the project to proceed on schedule.
