Peachtree Corners, GA – NAC International Inc. (NAC) announced today that has formed a new wholly owned subsidiary, NAC LPT LLC, to acquire selected assets of SECUR LPT LLC of Sewickley, PA, a leading provider of hazardous and radioactive waste logistics, packaging equipment, transportation, and technical services, serving numerous commercial and government environmental remediation projects.

In addition to major sales contracts and accounts, NAC LPT (for Logistics, Packaging and Technical Services) is acquiring selected transportation hardware assets of SECUR LPT, which include a fleet of intermodal IP-1 containers, articulated bulk container rail cars and specially-lidded gondola railcars. This equipment is essential to relocate safely and securely large amounts of waste materials from remediation sites across the country to processing facilities or disposal sites. Key SECUR LPT employees have opted to join the NAC LPT subsidiary and will support existing projects and business relationships.

NAC LPT expands NAC’s business and capabilities beyond packaging and transportation of high activity nuclear waste and spent fuel by adding a wider array of resources and experience in logistics, packaging and technical services for hazardous and low-level radioactive waste materials to government and commercial nuclear markets. NAC’s combined engineering, licensing, and packaging experience, together with the waste management coordination and logistics experience of NAC LPT, will ensure seamless collaboration to meet customer demands in support of dismantling, decommissioning and remediation projects regardless of waste types and class.

NAC President and CEO Kent Cole said: “With our acquisition of SECUR LPT assets, we are proud to bring on board these impressive additional capabilities and resources for the business success of our new subsidiary NAC LPT LLC.”

“This acquisition expands NAC's capabilities in packaging and transportation of nuclear wastes and strengthens our ability to serve our customers better by offering unique and insightful solutions that integrate NAC’s state-of-the-art packaging technology with world-class logistics services in hazardous and low-level waste management sector. In particular, this deal strengthens NAC’s expertise with shipments of waste and large components via rail transport, a valuable and highly reliable capability as NAC prepares to offer spent fuel transportation solutions to relocate spent fuel from decommissioning nuclear plants to a future Consolidated Interim Storage Facility.”

NAC LPT LLC’s Board of Managers is comprised of NAC senior leadership. Ken Grumski, a skilled nuclear industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in nuclear and hazardous waste management services, will oversee company operations, as its Vice President and Managing Director.
