NAC Hosts the Next Round of Nuclear Fuel Cycle, Spent Fuel Training Seminars
NAC International is hosting another round of two popular semi-annual training seminars—Nuclear Fuel Cycle Seminar and Spent Fuel Academy—at NAC headquarters in Atlanta. The Nuclear Fuel Cycle Seminar, focused on the commercial and technical aspects of each step of the nuclear fuel cycle, is scheduled to take place November 5-8, 2024. The Spent Fuel Academy, focused on various aspects of managing used nuclear fuel, will be held January 28-30, 2025.
The seminars are led by the expert instructors of NAC International, sharing their valuable technical and commercial experience to help train attendees from across the globe that represent all sectors of the commercial nuclear industry. NAC subsidiaries also lend their support and expertise to the seminars.
The Nuclear Fuel Cycle Seminar is a four-day seminar which examines the global and U.S. markets for nuclear power and nuclear fuel. Attendees receive an overview of the full nuclear fuel cycle in detail from the “front end,” which includes uranium mining, enrichment, and conversion; to a discussion of the “back end,” which includes nuclear fuel recycling, disposal, and decommissioning.
The Spent Fuel Academy, a three-day seminar, includes sessions on multiple aspects of spent nuclear fuel management. This includes design, licensing, engineering, fabrication, and construction of spent fuel storage systems. It also covers the operation, transportation, quality requirements, and commercial considerations related to these systems. The size of these seminars is managed to provide an optimum learning experience which generally targets participation of 15-20 people.
