NAC International described its vision of the future at the 6th annual Nuclear Decommissioning & Used Fuel Strategy Summit, held Sept. 30 through October 1, 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Charlotte, NC.
George Vaughan, NAC Vice President of Business Development, delivered a Day 2 plenary address on “21st Century Decommissioning: A Dry Fuel Storage Perspective.” His presentation highlighted NAC’s expertise in providing storage solutions for shutdown sites, including at seven U.S. nuclear power plants.
Over 200 attendees from 120 companies were at the conference and could choose to participate in sessions from either the Decommissioning Track or Used Fuel Track.
Afternoon programs on Monday Sept. 30 were interrupted when the Ritz-Carlton and other nearby downtown Charlotte venues were evacuated due to a three-alarm fire at a nearby restaurant. The Tuesday conference agenda was reshuffled to include the previous day’s undelivered subjects.
