Hitz has supported the nuclear industry for decades, delivering a wide variety of products, including spent fuel and waste storage/transportation casks and canisters, and spent fuel transportation equipment, as well as radioactive waste processing equipment and nuclear power plant components.
With over 100 years of history, Hitachi Zosen has manufactured and delivered more than 800 casks and canisters for the international nuclear industry.
Hitz designed and fabricated Japan’s first domestic transport cask for spent nuclear fuel (HZ-75T) and was awarded a design certificate in 1978.

Since then, the company has manufactured and delivered more than 800 casks and canisters to the nuclear industry.

The company has provided a wide variety of products, including spent fuel transportation casks and storage casks for domestic and overseas markets. Hitz is now developing a more efficient dual-purpose (storage/transportation) spent fuel cask with increased capacity.

Ariake Works, Hitz’s largest and most advanced fabrication facility, offers a wide range of capabilities, including lead casting, gamma ray shielding testing, precision welding, and other technologies to meet client and regulatory requirements.
